Solve the common problems of laser cutting stainless steel from the technical point of view


Laser-cut stainless steel uses the energy released by the laser beam to illuminate the surface of the steel sheet to melt and evaporate the stainless steel. For the manufacturing of stainless steel sheets as the main component, laser cutting of stainless steel is a fast and efficient processing method.


If the laser cutting process parameters are strictly controlled during processing, the corrosion resistance of such materials can be maintained. The most important process parameters affecting the quality of stainless steel cutting are cutting speed, laser power, and air pressure. The specific problems and debugging methods are as follows:


1. producing a small rule of burr


Possible Causes 


(1) The focus is too low


(2) Feed rate is too high


Solution 


(1) raise the focus


(2) Reduce the feed rate


2. Long irregular filamentous burrs on both sides, surface discoloration of large plates

Possible Causes 


(1) Feed rate is too low


(2) The focus is too high


(3) The air pressure is too low


(4) The material is too hot


Solution 


(1) Increase the feed rate


(2) reduce the focus


(3) increase the pressure


(4) Cooling material


3. Produce long irregular burrs only on one side of the cutting edge

Possible Causes 

(1) The nozzle is not centered


(2) The focus is too high


(3) The air pressure is too low


(4) The speed is too low


Solution 


(1) Centering nozzle


(2) reduce the focus


(3) increase the pressure


(4) increase the speed


4, the material is discharged from above

Possible Causes 


(1) The power is too low


(2) The feed rate is too large


(3) The air pressure is too high


Solution 


When this happens, press the pause button immediately to prevent slag from splashing onto the focusing mirror. Increase power. Reduce feed rate and reduce air pressure.


In addition to the above common problems, there may be yellowing problems at the cutting edge.

Use good quality, high purity nitrogen
